I’m currently working on a new album with the Loose Train and it’s great fun. We made the first recordings couple of days ago and tried out a new recording format too – cassette tapes. I don’t think it’s going be the only recording medium to be used in these sessions but it’s always interesting to explore different recording techniques. We used Cutec MR402D 4-track cassette recorder, a bunch of ribbon mics, recorded everything live and the results sound good!
The second single “What Goes On” from the upcoming album Gone to the Dogs is out now – watch the video:
The vid is an homage to the late great Jim Henson. The dark green puppet I’m hanging out with is called Mossy. The video also features Vauxhall Cavalier mk1, Batman comics, Gerry and the Pacemakers’ 7″ single and if you look closely at the end you can even see Marty McFly’s DeLorean.

We’ll hit the studio again on February 28. These will be the final live recordings with the band for the third album. Then there’ll be just some overdubbing, mixing & mastering and then it’s done. Meanwhile you can listen to the previous works:
